Verse 1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
So that actually says that Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert knowing that he was going to be tempted by the devil He knew that Satan would come against Him. Satan would tempt him even knowing that he was God.
Jesus was just beginning to minister and in this temptation, he experienced the temptations, hunger, and pain of humans-You and Me. He was able to prove that he was the victorious Messiah through His endurance of testing (and the pain It brought) and by using the Word of God as a defense. Not only was it a defense, but also an offense that sent the devil away.
Because he was tempted, he knows what it is for us to be tempted. He is able to compassionately feel our pain, fear, and Frustration and understand our humanness. He also knows and shows us how to defend ourselves in the middle of All that we experience when satan tempts us.
This victory over temptation by Jesus catapulted him into ministry. Jesus, Walking in our shoes is a great reminder that He does know what we go through. He understands you and loves you and is equipping you to withstand and stand.
