Today we see Jesus taking 3 of His disciples - Peter, James, and John - on a side excursion
up on a mountain
Scripture says He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun and His
clothes were as white as light. Then, suddenly, He was talking with Moses and Elijah.
While they were talking, a bright cloud covered them and a voice came from the
cloud and said, “This is my son whom I love, with Him I am well pleased. LISTEN
To Him!”
What spoke to me was that these 3 disciples had been following Jesus and had
seen Him preach and do all the miracles, including raising the dead, and yet God
gave them even more evidence and encouragement that Jesus Christ was His
Son and the Savior.
God spoke the same words that He had said at Jesus' baptism and then said,
Hey! Listen to HIM! Then he showed them Jesus in his glorified body-
Showed them proof of eternal life. Showed them the fulfillment of prophesies and
to top it off---GOD spoke directly to them!!
God said, GUYS, I am real and powerful and Jesus is my son—He is the Messiah!
God constantly cares for us and shows us and reminds us of his power and his love
for us.
