DAY 6
Scripture: Mark 8:22-26
Devotional:
One of the most interesting healings in Scripture is when Jesus heals a blind man, but not all at once. This takes place at Bethsaida and once again I want you to see something interesting, Look at verse 22.
"They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to heal him."
Let's pause here for a second and take notice of the fact that once again we see those around this man bringing him to Jesus. Let us also make sure that is who we are surrounding ourselves with - those who faithfully bring us to Jesus - and also let’s be that kind of person for those in need around us. But that's not the only interesting thing that takes place in this passage. Verse 23 goes on to say:
"Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes,
he laid his hands on him and asked, 'Can you see anything now?'"
The Bible makes it very clear, Jesus actually spits on the man’s eyes and lays hands on him! Crazy right? Some of you may be thinking i’ll just stay blind. Now, as you continue reading, you find that, at first, the man sees partially, and he says, “people look like trees walking around.” Then Jesus touches him again, and his sight is fully restored.
Why would Jesus do it that way?
Because sometimes healing is not just about the miracle, it’s about the journey of trust. If you haven’t seen full healing yet, it doesn’t mean God isn’t moving or that he is done moving. It may mean He’s working in stages and he isn’t done yet. So keep asking!
Faith doesn’t quit just because it’s not instant. Don’t let “not yet” convince you of “not ever.” Stay faithful. Stay expectant. Stay anchored.
Reflection Question:
Have I grown discouraged because I haven’t seen immediate results?
Prayer Focus:
“God, help me trust You even when I’m in the middle of the process.”
Action Step:
Thank God today, not just for what He will do, but for what He is already doing.
Reminder, we have pre-service prayer tomorrow morning at 9:00-9:30 in the sanctuary as we continue to ask for God to move during our service.
